International recording artist Junior Reid has released his long-awaited studio album, ‘Junior Reid: The Living Legend’ on August 25th 2015.
Truth to be told, when I first met the Veteran Reggae Crooner at Haitian Mafia Studio in Miami few years ago, the incredible One Blood singer got out of the recording booth, where he was voicing new songs and dub plates, to come open the door and let me in.
I was not aspecting him to open the door and I remember just saying – Wow Living Legend Junior Reid in person! – from then on we rolled to the Hit Factory studio and we wrapped out an interview, click here to watch it.
I met the artist and his One Blood Fam with Jared (RIP) several other times and I’m positive when me seh Junior Reid is a real LIVING LEGEND, part of the foundation of reggae music and an artist that keeps innovating and crossing reggae with hip hop, making reggae and dancehall music as well as Jamaica the biggest thing, for every relevant US rapper, billboard or underground artists.
It was just natural the new album would be titled Junior Reid “The Living Legend”.

The 20-track album features some serious collaborations songs like the pop-influenced ‘Love You Back’, ‘Never Let You Go’, ‘This Generation’ featuring Sizzla Kalonji, Wanted featuring Buju Banton & Never Too Rough Featuring Julian Marley , just to mention a couple.

Some of the producers who have worked on the album includes son Adoney Reid, Lynford ‘Fatta’ Marshall, King Jammy, James of Machete Records, producer Jervis ‘Spugy’ Clarke, ‘Prekeh’ and Junior Reid himself.

“We went for an original roots rock feel to the album, however, the lead single, ‘Love You Back’ has a pop-commercial feel, that is why we shot a video for the international market. The video was released a week before the album is was released,”
