In a quick statement, LIME, the telecommunication company that sponsored Kartel’s reality show ‘Teacha’s Pet’ dropped out of the show.

 “Due to the serious nature of the charges against Vybz Kartel, LIME has taken the decision to discontinue its broadcast of “Teacha’s Pet” on Mobile TV with immediate effect.”

Vybz Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, was yesterday charged with murder, conspiracy to murder and illegal possession of firearm. The issue is a legal matter,and LIME will not comment any further at this time.

Last night Vybz Kartel’s attorney, Christian Tavares-Finson, said he had not yet seen the case’s file and therefore could not speak in detail on the matter. 

He declared, however, that his client was prepared to fight the charges.

Two of the persons held with Palmer during his initial arrest, André St John and Shane Williams, are scheduled to appear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court today.

Vybz Kartel was scheduled to appear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court today, but the preliminary hearing failed to get off the ground.

Police have since reported that the artist will face the courts tomorrow. It’s getting really crazy.
