I-Octane “My Life” Several different artists released songs called “My Life” in 2010 , in Jamaica. Similar songs with similar titles but nobody was able to compete with the lyrics and the appeal on listeners as I-Octanes song. Not bad for such a new and young artist.

The song “Clarks” also gave rise to Popcaan and Gaza Slim, the youngest members of Vybz Kartel led Gaza EmpireGiven the “Clarks” success, Vybz  Kartel is opening his own shoe company.

Gyptian/Nicki MinajHold Yuh is biggest reggae worldwide success of the year. Once again Gyptian scoring big and it’s surely not a surprise.The reggae song “Hold Yuh” raised his own career and made him very popular worldwide and also revived the whole dancehall scene, that was going across a period of low, capturing music fans from all over.

The original version of “Hold Yuh” was released in 2009,  but really got famous in 2010 and even since then several versions and remixes was done off the song, including the popular Nicki Minaj remix and a soca version.
