jamaica 50th Independence Anniversary Celebration

The controversy sparked up about the release  of Jamaica 50 song, for Jamaica 50th Anniversary of Independence, is not over  yet and after Shaggy’s song was chosen “Mission 50” the Jamaican Gov. share the news that it was not the official anthem song for the celebration , so the chat and the controversy is not over yet .Sweet Jamaica Form Mr Vegas wasn’t chosen neither.

Deanna Robbins Miss Jamaica World 2012

Deana Robins won Miss Jamaica World 2012 and will represent Jamaica for the Miss World pageant, on August 18, in Inner Mongolia, China. Robins beat out crowd favorite Trishauna Clarke and to walk away with the coveted crown and title she went up against 19 other beautiful women. Robins copped the Best Smile Award in the competition. Second place went to Trishauna Clarke and third pace went to Rashida Beckford.Deanna Robbins will represent Jamaica at the Miss World pageant .She will also be part of the Jamaica 50th Independence celebration slated for this summer.

Sizzla’s Judgment yard raised by police last weekend

There are rumors about some incidents with police  that reportedly raided Sizzla Kalonji’s  Judgement Yard over the weekend after gunfire broke out in August Town. According to reports , four persons were shot; two of the wounded individuals were pronounce dead at hospital.The raid on Judgement Yard places Khago in a even more bad  light with some fans of Sizzla  calling him names and being upset at him for the latest developments and broadcasting their feelings toward the whole situation on twitter.

deva bratt latest news june 2012

Dancehall artist Deva Bratt has denied allegations that he was involved in a physical altercation with two females in Portmore recently, which led to him being arrested by the police.According to the artist, the report made against him was false and highly exaggerated.”The whole thing was a misunderstanding, and I was framed. The information was blown out of proportion,” Deva Bratt said.The artist, that got bail, has so far recorded two songs making reference to the situation, one titled Consider Mi, produced by Nothing To Something Records.
Deva Bratt says the song is unreleased, but speaks of the misinformation that was spread against his name. The other song is called Give It To You and is an attempt for the artist  to clear his name.At the time of his arrest, Deva Bratt was expected to embark on his European tour, and had to postpone shows in Belgium and Amsterdam.“My apologies to my fans and the people who are disgusted by the rumors. I am not a womanizer nor am I an abuser of women, we live and we learn, and you are never too big to learn,” he says.The artist is scheduled to leave the island for performances in Amsterdam and Switzerland shortly, and is expected to return just in time for his court date on August 14, to answer to charges of indecent assault.

Khago signed to down sound records

The independent label Down Sound Records has inked a production and booking deal with international recording artist Khago to boost his presence in the international marketplace. Khago recently saw a huge increase in bookings partly due to his heated lyrical feud with dancehall veterans Sizzla Kalonji and Agent Sasco.The label’s head, Josef Bogdanovich, says Khago could be the next big act out of Jamaica given his crossover appeal and work ethics. “We are marketing him as one of the future stars of dancehall music,” Bogdanovich added.

Ricky Rozays in Jamaica june 2012

Rick Ross was in Jamaica for a live gig at the Heineken Best Of Summer concert. The rapper tweeted pictures with big ganja buds adding “I’m in Jamaica relaxing. Smoke one” .Rozay did a good show, interacting with people and Jamaican patrons really enjoyed the performance,until police shut off the show, during his set, because the show apparently went overtime. Kano in Jamaica recording with Elephant man june 2012

British-Jamaican rapper Kano flew down to Jamaica earlier this month to do some recording with Dancehall veteran Elephant Man.The rapper, born in  East London, is currently working on his new album. Kano has in the past recorded with  Vybz Kartel and Aidonia on his 2010 album Method To The Maadness. Both Kano and Ele are satisfied with their recording and the outcome.While in Jamaica Kano hosted his birthday bash at Hellshire beach in Portmore and visited local hotspot such as Usain Bolt sports bar and he tweeted pics of his trip.
