Vybz Kartel and his three co-accused have filed appeals against their convictions and life sentences. The appeals were filed in the Court of Appeal downtown, Kingston on April 15.
THE PHOTO ABOVE IS THE ORIGINAL APPEAL APPLICATION PRESENTED TO THE COURTS AND SIGNED BY ADIDJA PALMER, SHAWN STORM AND OTHER CO-ACCUSED OF WORLD BOSS VYBZ KARTEL ALSO SIGNED APPEAL PAPERS
Vybz Kartel, real name Adidja Palmer, Shawn ‘Shawn Storm’ Campbell, Kahria Jones and Andre St John were slapped with life sentences on April 3 2014, for the murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams believed by the police to be over two missing guns.
While Dancehall artist Vybz Kartel is to serve 35 years in prison before he becomes eligible for parole, his co-accused, ‘Shawn Storm’ is to serve 25 years before he is eligible for parole, Kahira Jones was given -25 years and Andre St John, 30 years.
A guilty verdict was returned for all four on March 13, ending one of the longest trials in Jamaican history. 65 days of trial full of shadows, controversy, compromised evidence and a lot of lies.
Vybz Kartel spoke to the court and the jury repeating he is innocent and his hands are clean of Clive Lizards blood, and hopefully the appeal process will happen quick and smooth and we will finally know the truth about what happened.
