This is an artist that has a huge catalog of songs, and rose to fame in Jamaica with popular anthems like ‘In My Life’, ‘Clarks’, ‘Empire Forever’, just to mention a couple of his most known songs.
Shawn Storm debut album, titled “Freedom Street” is produced by dancehall music producer Still Yet, which is also Shawn’s own cousin.
Talking about “Freedom Street” the producer say it will provide a different prospective on the person behind Shawn Storm. The producer goes on in telling that during the years he has seen big changes and transformations in the artist.
“The topics covered on each track vary and I really think it will resonate well with the fans,” Still Yet said. “Shawn has a few gangster songs on it but his biggest hits are positive. It is all about life, the justice system, love, unity and positive energy and is the type of content that people are supposed to be listening to, abiding and living by. It’s all about carrying ourselves like kings and queens and what it means to be black.”
Still Yet says that in putting the compilation together, his main focus was expanding not just the artist’s horizons but also his.
“As a producer, you have to create a catalogue so that you can always have new music for the world so that you keep selling records. We have increased our fan base since COVID hit and we have found out that people really want positive material. When you find a niche market, you have to just give them the kind of music they want and relish in the support,” he said. “That’s exactly what we intend to do with this project. We believe it will be a huge success.”
