There is a new Vybz Kartel’s musicsingle that was just released from TJ Records, titled ‘Ordinary Servant’.
This time Vybz Kartel aka Addi Innocent, real name Adidja Palmer, sings a Gospel, where he talks about how much he needs to be more than just an ‘Ordinary Servant’ and provide for his family.
The single, as many other new Vybz Kartel releases are being published now but they were all recorded previous his incarceration.
When, shortly after his Life In Prison Sentence, the judge asked him if he had any intention to record music in jail he reply he didn’t want to record music in jail.
Vybz Kartel has been incarcerated for over 2 years before the trial and the the sentence and his music and voice still dominates the business, making his music legendary and his lyrics prophetic, while the world is divided in two factions : who says he’s innocent and who says he’s guilty, he maintained his innocence and filed his appeal.
No matter the jail time and the crime, his music is here to stay and influence the future generations of dancehall artists like in the case of the new comer Alkaline and all the young talents that emerged out of the Portmore Empire experience.
