Ziggy Marley is the winner of the Grammy for Best Reggae Album 2014.
Ziggy Marley won the Grammy for his latest album, released in 2013 and titled “Ziggy Marley In Concert”.
Competing with Bob Marley’s son for the Grammy were the likes of Snoop Lion with his album “Reincarnated”, Sizzla Kalonji with the album “The Messiah”, Beres Hammond’s album “One Love, One Life”, and Sly & Robbie and The Jam Masters Reggae Connection.
This latest recognition marks Ziggy Marley’s second solo Grammy win and his sixth Grammy in total.
Ziggy Marley won his first solo Grammy in 2007 for his album “Love is my Religion”.
He also won three Grammys as part of the band Ziggy Marely & The Melody Makers.
His new live album, “Ziggy Marley In Concert”, brings together the greatest classics of his career, plus two interpretations of songs from his Father: “Is This Love” & “War”. “Ziggy Marley In Concert” also features the legendary drummer Santa Davis (Peter Tosh, Jimmy Cliff and Carlos Santana) , guitarist Takeshi Akimoto, guitarist and backing vocalist Beezy Coleman, bassist Pablo Stennet, the keyboardists Michael Hyde and George Hughes, percussionist and backing vocalist Angel Roche Tracy Hazzard.
