Incarcerated Jamaican deejay Vybz Kartel was remanded again when he appeared yesterday morning in the Home Circuit Court in relation to the murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams.
Kartel and five other men are charged in connection with the alleged killing. All the men were in court in the morning, including Shawn Storm, Kahira Jones, Shane Williams, Andre St John and Calvin Haye.
They were all remanded except Calvin Haye who was granted an extension of his bail.
They will return to court on March 16 th by that time the Forensic Lab will have the reports on the case available by order of High Court Judge Marva McDonald Bishop. Another bail application is expected to be made at the time so reports will be needed.
There were rumors of Kartel possibly being out on bail in the middle of March, let’s see if that happens!
His attorneys made another attempt to have him released on bail but Government prosecutors have strongly opposed bail, arguing that they have solid evidence against Kartel and his friends like video and audio recordings linking him, and his co-defendants to the killing.
Police also insists that they have eye witness statements connecting the men to the murder of Clive Williams , reportedly killed in Havendale, St. Andrew, on August 16, but his body was never found.
