Meet Pop Reggae Artist Nefatari Cooper

Nefatari They Don't know

Meet Nefatari. Her name triggered my curiosity since I first heard it. She is a very beautiful and young recording artist and  also talented : she ‘s been collecting more than a standing ovation and one of them was on Clarendon’s Music Awards stage this past edition, in Jamaica.

Let’s start from her name…Her parents choose it for her. It sounds unique & fits her perfectly. There’s some ancient knowledge and it brings up memories about some Egyptian Princess. She is not ordinary girl. First of all don’t get fooled by her young age she is not new to the red carpets and she worked with pretty big names already.

She studied with songwriting/producing legend James Mtume and with award winning voice coach Gwen Conley and worked with a solid  production camp, under John Eaton and Tony Woodruff  she wrote and vocalized songs shopped for JLo’s album, “This is Me, This is Then”.

NEFATARI – ALL THE BOYS (ICE RIDDIM)

Nefatari has been doing her thing in a minute. She sings, writes and co-writes.In 2006 her fast rising single, “Want Him” (on the Gangsta Beat Riddim) gained spins on New York’s Hot 97FM, but also on Jamaica’s Hot 102 and Zip 103FM. Her past collaboration with Billboard artist ERUP on “Taking Over” has also gotten a lot of attention.

Nefatari was also recently featured in the Ice Riddim Medley music video with her record “All The Boys.”

Already, her distinctive style has landed her on the pages of VOGUE MAGAZINE, WWD, JAMAICA OBSERVER and GLAMOUR MAGAZINE. She has appeared in various ads for Dell Computers, “Sisters in Style” magazine, “Hype Hair”, and on the runway for Tommy Hilfiger.

Nefatari Cooper began her entertainment career as a model and has always looked at the industry from every angle. Her gifts and talents have propelled her into dancing, modeling, acting and music

NEFATARI – “THEY DONT KNOW” [OFFICIAL VIDEO]

Her most recent & fresh project is her debuts solo video for the hit track “They Don’t Know.” The song was featured on her mixtape “iPod UPGRADE” and has been a fan favorite ever since. The song ,which is an unofficial remix of hit-producer Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor’s track, originally featured dancehall superstar, Vybz Kartel, who performed the song “Careful” on the beat.

About her new video Nefatari says she had a lot of fun shooting this video on the beautiful island of, Jamaica. “It was also a blessing to be dressed by designer Lubica.” Lubica is the clothing line endorsed by Tami Chynn (previously signed to AKON).

The video also features several A-list local celebrity cameos including Mavado, Ding Dong, and Laden. Aside from shooting the video for “They Don’t Know,”Nefatari has been very busy in the studio working with various producers including Jon FX, who is known for producing Gyptian’s hit song “Nah Let Go”.

Nefatari is a force of nature and she is unstoppable right now. She just performed at various events along the East Coast including her most recent performance at the ‘Stir It Up Volume 9’ album release party for the comedic dancehall duo Twin of Twins. If all this was not enough she was also hand-picked to perform at the South Florida (SoFlo) Dancehall & Reggae Music Awards held in Hollywood, Florida.

Her performance at Mr. CC’s Birthday Bash at Club Lux in Orlando, Florida was also a defining experience. Nefatari touched the stage with huge reggae acts such as Taurus Riley, DeMarco, Mr. Vegas & Macka Diamond.

With so much going on, Nefatari doesn’t plan on slowing down a bit.
