Jamaican Music Artist Assassin, aka Agent Sasco, as he refers to himself calling his more conscious side, recorded a new tune under a new name and with a different voice. Called Up In A Life on Boardhouse Records’ ‘Big Dog’ Riddim was released about a month ago.
Assassin explains is not an alter ego:
“It wouldn’t be an alter ego ’cause I had no intention of claiming credit for it. I was just putting songs out as somebody else who doesn’t exist. The initial idea was to just put this song out as a mystery artist kinda vibe”.
The song got a lot of good reviews but not much airplay, despite the good reception on the Internet, the song is not played on the air.
So with this little experiment veteran Deejay Assassin could feel on his own skin the difficulties that every upcoming artist is faced with.
“People appreciate the song when they hear it but the song doesn’t get played. It highlights a sad reality that not a lot of people are willing to play new artists. If we don’t introduce new artists and new talents what is going to be the future?” he questions.
Talking about the future Assassin said he is currently pushing upcoming artists like Ricky Frass, Lady Ali, Max Element and Tajii while gearing up for the music video of his latest hits Late and JPS, both doing well.
