Vybz Kartel’s fans here some good news broadcasted in Jamaica last night regarding the upcoming appeal trial of  popular Jamaican star Vybz Kartel, real name Adidja Azim Palmer, and his three co-accused.


In the latest court documents presented by Kartel’s legal team there are more than 12 grounds for the appeal.

As already reported in this site that has been following Vybz Kartel’s arrest and his trial very closely for all these years, from the tampered evidence, like the cell phones admitted in court and used as proofs, to corruption of police and guilty parties against Kartel‘s from members of the jury.

The list of shadows in Kartel’s trial is long, but one crucial element, the one of cell phones contaminated and used by police, that tampered with them while in their custody knowing they were compromised, is now been considered miscarriage of Justice.

The appeal court documents highlighted that using tampered evidence as the cell phones knowing their were been compromised has been misdirecting a fair and balance consideration of the case.

Vybz Kartel’s and co-accused legal teams are also dealing with the video evidence used in court stating they were highly prejudicial, showing videos of several men going up and down in a room seeming to discuss of maybe hurting somebody but there were no faces, or specific features, except for the tattoo on the arm of one of the men.

The trial’s judge is also taken to task for his summation were he seems to have made improper, unjustified, unreasonable comments pretending to different aspects of the evidence an trial.

These and more are just some of the logical arguments that will be used in the appeal of Adidja Palmer, Shawn Campbell, Andre St Johns and Kaira Jones.

Vybz Kartel‘s loyal fans are awaiting for the appeal with mixed emotions, hope and also some trepidations about the whole ordeal.


Vybz Kartel was sentenced to 35 years in prison without parole and his co-accused also faced harsh sentences to 25 and 20 years.

While Vybz Kartel always proclaimed his innocence and already walked away clean from being accused of Bossie Burton‘s murder, and winning the appeal trial for the Clive “Lizard” Williams murder is do or die for the dancehall star, that received a too harsh sentence in a country were a lot of murders and crimes go unpunished.

Vybz Kartel was punished to the fullest in an attempt to muzzle him and make an example out of a controversial subject that has never been afraid to speak up against the system and injustice via his music and his book.

Vybz Kartel’s appeal trial is schedule to start this upcoming July 2018.
