Following the release of her brand new single “Proppa (ft. Stonebwoy)” last week, Jamaican songstress Etana now delivers the official visuals, which dropped today on her YouTube channel.
OkayAfrica, a digital media platform dedicated to African culture, music, and politics, hailed the tune as “addictive” and featured the video in their “Songs You Need To Hear” round-up of the week’s best new songs and videos.
Etana, a 2018 Grammy Award nominee, and Ghanian Afropop star Stonebwoy brought the Afro-Caribbean heat to the set when they flew out to the northeast U.S. to film the video on a recent cold winter day in Jersey City, NJ.
The results were worth the trip, as red fur coats, silver bubble jackets, and a 90’s-era r&b aesthetic give new life to the smooth guitar-driven track, produced by Freemind Music.

”Was wicked working with the queen on this project…straight positive vibes and energy – been a big fan of her works over the years, so it was only right we came together and done something for the masses,” offered Stonebwoy of the endeavor.
Stonebwoy, who won Best International Act at the 2015 BET Awards, celebrated his birthday today as the “Proppa” video was unleashed to the world.
“The 1GAD Stonebwoy is full of vibes and great aura!& When we linked up on set it was just perfect,” added Etana, who is also known as the Queen of Reggae Soul.
