The 26th edition of the MOBO Awards, a celebration of Black musical talent in the UK and beyond, took place at the Utility Arena Sheffield.

Jamaican artist Valiant Wins Best Caribbean Music Act MOBO AWARDS 2024

Jamaican dancehall artist Valiant, chart topper for more than an year and half, has a lot of celebrate! Valiant is the winner of this year edition of the MOBO Award (Music of Black Origin) in the category Best Caribbean Music Act.

The MOBO Awards are an annual British music recognition ceremony that highlights the achievements of black artists within the music industry, from the genres of hip hop, grime, UK Drill, R&B, soul, reggae, jazz, gospel, and African music.

MOBO shared the winners ahead of the ceremony via their social media account on X. The winners for other categories, such as ‘Best Media Personality’, ‘Best African Music Act’, and more were also announced. Scroll down for  MOBO AWARDS 2024 Full List Of Winners.

Valiant is one of the new generation dancehall artist that blew up crafting a stellar career made of solid hits, viral video, lyrical skills, superior flow that made him a serious force to reckon with in today dancehall music scene.

Winning the MOBO AWARDS for such a young act is an incredible result, and well deserved too. Valiant put a lot of work. He has been sharing his thoughts on his IG account writing:


“Big up the whole a di diplomats who support di ting. Big up Jamaica. Big up God. Yuh know the style already. Nuff new music a fawud out. More work. Big up di whole a di new generation dem. Big up di longevity artiste dem weh deh inna the ting. Nuff love,” Valiant said sharing a video on his social media following the announcement.


Jamaican-born dancehall act Byron Messia, who was nominated in the Best Caribbean Music Act category with Valiant, is scheduled to perform at the awards. Among other nominees this year were also Soca star Destra, Grammy winner Kabaka Pyramid, Popcaan and Shenseea were the other Best Caribbean Music Act nominees.

Valiant commented on the MOBO win on his Instagram page:


“One year and God has been so good to me. The journey has not been easy. Dancehall is no game but my faith and strong mind carried me all this way.

I just want to thank all my true fans and supporters who believed in me. I can’t big up everybody, but Jah know, words can’t explain how me member them use to say me naah reach far but all me can say is believe ina yourself.

Every ghetto (yute) can be great. Big up all the nominees,” he wrote.
