Jamaican dancehall reggae superstar Demarco announced the release of his debut album for later on this year.
Demarco is a dancehall legend on his own and he has been around for almost two decades, showing his talents into Jamaica’s music production, as well as singing/deejaying, ghostwriting and directing.
Demarco, real name Collin Demar Edwards, announced to his fans that his debut album, titled “Melody” is ready, and the release date is slated for October 22, 2021 under the Oakland-based Ineffable Records label.
The Jamaican deejay has debuted his brand new single titled “Mover,” featuring another heavy weight and long time Demarco’s friend, Jamaican star Konshens, who is also about to drop his third album “Red Reign” with the same label.

Demarco started his career as a selector, mixing vinyl, getting inspired by the likes of Fame FM deejay Collin Hinds; Alric & Boyd, and later on when, he decided to respond to his real vocation as a deejay, he has been inspired by another legend, that inspired many, Bounty Killer. The Alliance’s General was one of his idols growing up, and later on he would help him with his first music release, a single titled ‘Chap’.
Demarco is also a well respected and rounded music producer, he credits Dave Kelly, as one of his main motivators as far as production goes.
Around 1999 Demarco moved to the States and learned how to use a drum machine and started buying music equipment, and studying music production. Shortly after he was signed to Star Kutt Music, where he wrote and produced hits for the likes of Styles P, Missy Elliot, Foxy Brown, Kat Deluna, Olivia, and many others.
From there he started being popular in his own homeland of Jamaica delivering a tune from Sizzla that was shortly followed by a string of super popular hits like “Falling Soldiers.” “Standing Soldier,” “True Friend,” “Sort Dem Out” and “Duppy Know Who Fi Frighten” “i Love My Life” among many others.
While cementing his name as an artist on the dancehall scene, behind the scene he was also continuing to produce and craft some of the best dancehall and reggae riddims.

Demarco built his own riddims for viral tunes like “Fallin Soldiers”, “Duppy Know Who Fi Frighten”, “Shoot Out Riddim”, “Mission Riddim” and more.
Busy Signal’s song “Whine Pon Di Edge,” Busy Signal, “Unknown Number”. Charly Black “Party Animal” just to mention few, but there are many riddim where he did not yet get credit.
Talking to the Jamaican press, when asked why he took so long to drop his album, Demarco said that now it’s just the right time for him, all the right things have been put in place and now he also knows the business better.
This multi talented artist’s success came following hours of studying, and learning the business side of music.
Demarco, who remains an independent artist, has teamed up with Ineffable Records to release the much-anticipated upcoming album, that sports a stellar line up of guest artists on it.
Demarco’s upcoming album centers around melodies, reggae sounds and dancehall hard hitting beats. One of his most recent release, the reggae hit titled “Stuck On You,” has been produced by Collie Buddz and is included in the upcoming project.

Also featured on the album are Ghanaian music “Artiste Of The Decade” winner Sarkodie, Sean Paul, Shaggy, Stephen Marley, and Ky-mani Marley, Spice.
At today Demarco has released four singles from the upcoming album :“Dance My Stress Away,” featuring Stephen Marley, “Mover,” featuring Konshens, “Stuck on You” and “Ryda”.
“Dance My Stress Away” was released few weeks ago, and it has already more than a 1M views on YouTube. The music video, shot in Atlanta, Georgia, features a cameo from Love And Hip Hop star Karlie Reidd .

The leading single “Mover,” was produced by Australian producer WILL K, It;s a nice track for the ladies that features also a hint of latin!
