International Reggae/Dancehall artist Konshens arrives at one of many career milestones with recent MOBO award nomination.

On Monday, September 17th Music of Black Origin (MOBO) announced the nominees for this years annual award ceremony.

This year Jamaican artist Konshens has been nominated in the category of Best Reggae Artist. Over its history  MOBO awards has witnessed performances from Usher, Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake, John Legend, and Kanye West.

Returning from a hectic weekend of performances in Hartford Connecticut, New Jersey and Barbados, Konshens was greatful to hear about the nomination as he stated.

“Feels good to be nominated for any award that recognizes quality and consistency in work, but honestly its not that big a deal for me…I’m more excited when a regular person gives me their REAL feedback on twitter”.

Konshens LIVE “The Return”

The highly anticipated Konshens LIVE “The Return” took place this past weekend in Connecticut to a packed house. The DNZ & One Team promotions event took place in Hartford, Connecticut at the West Indian Social Club.

The event was hosted by multi media personality Diva Nikki Z and reggae artist Delly Ranxx. Although this event was dubbed “Konshens Live The Return”, fans were also treated to a performance by their musical host “Delly Ranx” and DNZ rising artist “Leximillion”.

Delly Ranxx recently ended a promotional tour for his latest album “The Next Chapter” (available on itunes). The album features such veterans acts as Bunny Rugs from Third World, Grammy award winner Buju Banton, newcomers Chali 2na and Gabrielle Foster.

This was Konshens 2nd time appearing at the West Indian Social Club, but his actual first time performing. On May 4th 2012, eager fans gathered by the thousands to see him perform, Konshens mania had reached Hartford and the crowd spilled outside the venue which resulted in the Fire Marshal shutting down the night.

Second time was indeed the charm and at 12:30am the show started with New York’s top selectors/djs Platinum Kids who themselves gave the crowd a performance that is still being talked about (watch performance below). the musical entertainment was then preceded by CT’s elite DJ MDot, DJ Token and DJ Scarface.

For lack of a better word, Konshens demolished Connecticut!

His stage performance left the ladies breathless and wanting more. His dashing looks, sultry yet commanding voice, arousing lyrics and style have made him one of today’s dancehall superstar and this was one of the last opportunity for his fans to see him perform in the New England area for 2012.

It’s not all about him: Konshens is also on to the next. Mark the date!!! On Wednesday, October 17th Konshens will headline Hot97 Who’s Next Series “The Reggae Edition”.

Who’s Next is known for providing a platform for underground rappers to showcase their skills and talent in an environment where record labels and other music execs are always in attendance. Who’s Next has seen performances by Drake, J. Cole, B.O.B, Prodigy to most recently School Boy Q and is ready to add some Caribbean heat to their series.
