International Reggae/Dancehall artist Konshens arrives at one of many career milestones with recent MOBO award nomination.
On Monday, September 17th Music of Black Origin (MOBO) announced the nominees for this years annual award ceremony.
Established in 1996 to recognize artists of any ethnicity or nationality performing ‘urban’ music, MOBO is the only black award show in Europe.
This year Jamaican artist Konshens has been nominated in the category of Best Reggae Artist. This prestigious award, previously received by Alborosie, Gyptian and Sean Paul to name just a few, recognize the powerhouses in the music industry each year. Over its history MOBO awards has witnessed performances from Usher, Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake, John Legend, and Kanye West.
Returning from a hectic weekend of performances in Hartford Connecticut, New Jersey and Barbados, Konshens was greatful to hear about the nomination as he stated.
“Feels good to be nominated for any award that recognizes quality and consistency in work, but honestly its not that big a deal for me…I’m more excited when a regular person gives me their REAL feedback on twitter”.

Konshens LIVE “The Return”
The highly anticipated Konshens LIVE “The Return” took place this past weekend in Connecticut to a packed house. The DNZ & One Team promotions event took place in Hartford, Connecticut at the West Indian Social Club.
The event was hosted by multi media personality Diva Nikki Z and reggae artist Delly Ranxx. Although this event was dubbed “Konshens Live The Return”, fans were also treated to a performance by their musical host “Delly Ranx” and DNZ rising artist “Leximillion”.
Delly Ranxx recently ended a promotional tour for his latest album “The Next Chapter” (available on itunes). The album features such veterans acts as Bunny Rugs from Third World, Grammy award winner Buju Banton, newcomers Chali 2na and Gabrielle Foster.
This was Konshens 2nd time appearing at the West Indian Social Club, but his actual first time performing. On May 4th 2012, eager fans gathered by the thousands to see him perform, Konshens mania had reached Hartford and the crowd spilled outside the venue which resulted in the Fire Marshal shutting down the night.
