Latest News On Vybz Kartel Court Case World Boss Get Some Time Cut Off

vybz karte latets news get shorter sentence april 2020

Vybz Kartel had his appeal denied this past April 3rd 2020.

The whole Gaza Nation and dancehall community took a  big hit too, after all these years a lot of people all over the world was hoping on a more positive outcome on the matter.

While Vybz Kartel, real name Adidja Palmer, remains incarcerated for the time being, at least he will benefit of a little discount.

Jamaica’s Court of Appeal has cut off two-and-a-half years off the time the dancehall king and his co-defendant must spend behind bars before being eligible for parole. Really not much but is better than nothing.

Kartel will now be eligible for parole after serving 32-and-a-half years of his life sentence instead of the previous 35 years. Kartel has been sentenced to life behind bars in 2014 for the 2011 killing of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams, whose body was never found.

The development follows the ruling that was handed down by the Court of Appeal on April 3, when it upheld his murder conviction.

A three-member panel of the court, headed by president, Dennis Morrison, indicated then that they would address the matter of sentencing at a later date, after receiving submissions from Kartel’s legal team.

World Boss legal team, which is headed by Queen’s Counsel, Tom Tavares-Finson, has indicated that they will be bring the matter in front of United Kingdom-based Privy Council, as Kartel himself wrote on his IG shortly after the denial.
