“Incarcerated dancehall star Vybz Kartel and one of his female protege Jodi Couture mixed their voices together once again in their new collaborative singe “Sky Map”

Fans of Kartel are already familiar with the name of Jodi Couture for their previous collaborations, with “Backshot” ,click here to watch the official music video being the most popular, release this past January.

Jodi Couture is a New York based party host/dancehall artist of Jamaican origins, that worked as a vixen in a dancehall video in a project back in 2017. After discovering Jodi was also kin to music, she run a test with TJ Records, and after a successful remake of a single from Spragga Benz and Lady Saw, her future in dancehall music started shaping.

It’s not the first time that Kartel helps young talents, take Shenseea, giving a big buzz in their career for having collaborative songs with the Dancehall King and given the story and type of song this new single could do really big in dancehall music.

The song tells the story of a girl home alone and high and wanting to make love to a man, and once again based on the man woman relationship a lot of listeners are hooked to.

As usual when Kartel collaborates with some young female recording artist speculations on the nature of the relatioship sparks,but for now is just music collaboration. From Jody Couture’s own words

“I was and I still am a party promoter and host, but now I only host celebrity parties. I never chose Gaza, Gaza chose me, and me and Gaza compatible. Kartel is the best in dancehall and I’m the best female right now, so why not partner.”
