Fans of Reggae Superstar Buju Banton, currently behind bars and forbidden to record new music, will enjoy the just released new single, Set Up The Mic.
The single premiered this past Wednesday as the debut single and part of the collection Certified Boomshots: Vol. 1, aDancehall- Reggae mixtape compilation that includes also names likeShaggy, Vybz Kartel, Beenie Man as many others of the best reggae dancehall music artists and songs from Jamaica.
Buju Banton’s Set Up The Mic is not really a new recording, and there ‘s a story behind it : was initially recorded in 2008 by Buju for Young Blood Records on the Rapid Burst Riddim.
It was just a freestyle, but a studio engineer that was fixing levels at the beginning of a studio session, claims he recorded it by accident while Buju was warming up and freestyling on the riddim.
Set Up The Mic is the second single released featuring Buju Banton since he was convicted this past February. The first single was a collaboration with Delly Ranx entitled Thunder Roll that was released this summer.
The profits for the single go in a pro Buju account. The new single Set Up The Mic is another Buju Banton hit: happy, catchy, full of positive energy and if you didn’t know you couldn’t probably tell it’s a freestyle.
Certified Boomshots: Vol. 1 will be officially launch on December 13th click on the banner to get the compilation on iTunes.
