Watch Noisey Jamaica Episode One: Vybz Kartel

As previously announced on this website, Noisey launched a new video series dedicated to Jamaican Culture and Dancehall Music called Noisey Jamaica.

Codine Williams, host and producer of the series and of Jamaican origins, explores the Jamaican’s Dancehall music scene and then goes to Gaza, Jamaica to meet Vybz Kartel‘s crew and get a people’s perspective on the controversial dancehall icon. 

New York based music producer Dre Skull, the man behind Vybz Kartel’s Kingston Story album, that you can stream in full clicking here, is also featured in the episode,  and he defines

“Vybz Kartel one of the dopest lyricist of the century”, 

In Noisey’s first episode, that starts the series, host Codine Williams goes around Gaza City in Portmore and let the Ghetto Youths talk. The Gaza Youths. And it gets as real as it can be. They will explain you Vybz Kartel’s mystic, his hype, why he talks to each of them, why he ‘s not just a star, but a superstar!

This is the  this first Episode of Noisey Jamaica, a new video serie that focuses on Jamaica and dancehall Music executive produced by Snoop Lion , Codine Williams and Andy Capper, whom also directed the latest Popcaan ‘s official music video for – SO WE DO IT – and Snoop Lion’s – REICARNATED – Documentary.
