Big Up King Shabba! Recently turned Emperor!
Hundreds of fans gathered at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston Jamaica yesterday just to see Shabba Ranks return in his home land after many years.
The response to his return in Jamaica has been amazing.
Fans, mad excitement, fanfare and media frenzy all over. Whoa! Shabba’s mom, Moma Christie, was also waiting for him and there was a big hug, between them.
Shabba’s wife, Michelle, and their two sons, Rexton Jr and Jahwon, are also traveling with him and shared the joyous moment with the artist while outside the airport, where it was a triumph of Jamaican flags.
“It’s always great fi deh inna mi island because, as mi bigger brother seh, when you check it out, nowhere nuh better than yard.
This is the land of my birth, this is Jamaica, the land of my birth.
Nuh matta wha gwaan, no matter how mi travel the world, nuh matter wha mi do inna the world, mi age paper mark Sturge Town, St Ann,” Shabba Ranks.
Shabba went on to say that the overwhelming turnout of the fans was a blessing.
“This is just the blessing of God. This is just the manifestation of the love whe God have fi him pickney so mi nuh expect nothing more than just love when mi come home,” he said.
Later on in the day the artist attended an event at Olympic Gardens as part of the lead-up to Sumfest and as part of the welcome for Shabba Ranks, it was more of the same.
The crowd of supporters that gathered to see legendary Shabba was so thick he couldn’t move!
Shabba Ranks is scheduled to be the closing act on Friday, at International Night on July 19 at Reggae Sumfest. It’s going to be craaazy!
His live performances are already legendary but this time the show will be epic. Believe me!
