Jamaican Dancehall super diva and superstar Shenseea continues to have a blessed year, bringing home the 2021 Music Of Black Origin (MOBO) Award for Best Reggae Act.
This new Shensi’s prize makes her the first female artist to ever win the Reggae Award since its inception in 1996.
The awards ceremony took place last night (December 5 2021) at the Coventry Building Society Arena in London, England, marking the first in-person show since 2017.
The “Run Run” star, real name Chinsea Leewhich, whom is only 25 years old, shared the news via her official Instagram page, that counts more than 4 million followers simply saying “I won a Mobo Award @moboawards Thank you to all who voted,” she wrote.
Official congratulations also came in from the official MOBO Instagram page with a post for the singer . “Huge congratulations on @shenseea for winning BEST REGGAE ACT…”
Shenseea announced earlier this year that she will release her debut album, still untitled, at the beginning of 2022, via a joint venture with Interscope Records and Rvssian’s Rich Immigrants label.
Among her most popular tracks this year her single “Run Run”, which will be featured in her upcoming album. The official music video for “Run Run” raked up more than 6.7 million views on YouTube since its release in July 2021.

Shenseea already earned a nomination for Album Of The Year at the upcoming 64th Annual Grammy Awards, thanks to her two features on Kanye West’s Donda album. The songs, are Pure Souls with Roddy Rich and Ok Ok Pt.2
