Soul Train Awards honors the best in Black Music and Entertainment. So far, singer Janet Jackson holds the most number of wins with 13 trophies and 19 nominations.
Soul Train Awards 2o11 was taped on November 17 and taped last night on BET channel.
This year, R&B superstar Beyonce and Kanye West are being nominated for 4categories while Kelly Rowland and British singer, Adele got 3 nominations.
Hosted by Cedric the Entertainer the event took place at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. Heavy D wasn’t forgotten : a special tribute to the rapper featuring some of his closest friends Doug E. Fresh, Goodie Mob, Naughty by Nature and Kurtis Blow was also showed.
“We got nothing but love for you, Heavy!” is what they all said at the end of their tribute for their friend that just passed away.
Rhianna won the Best Caribbean Performance new session that substituted Reggae Category. Mavado got second place with Delilah and Kartel scored 3rd place with Summer Time. Beyonce , Chris Brown, Nicky Minaji and Kelly Rowland also scored first positions.
