Summer is a time for the young and young at heart, and if you have some hot songs to jam to, all the better.
Dancehall Kick Out, is a new compilation series from Tad’s Record; offering 16 popular singles that have the Jamaican airwaves, dancehalls settings and clubs jumping for Summer 2016.
Tad Dawkins Senior, founder and CEO of Tad’s Record, said a growing demand for dancehall music prompted him and his team to launch their newest various artist compilation.
“We noticed the resurgence of dancehall, especially leading up to the summer, and as you can see from the album’s track listing there are some new artistes such as Vershon, Don Andre, Razor B, Dexta Daps, and Alkaline who have played their part in this new ‘life’ in the music. And, of course, there are the ever-present top artistes represented, namely Mavado and Vybz Kartel,” he said.
Mavado’s ‘Big League’ is one of the anthems on Dancehall Kick Out, so too is ‘Champion Boy’ by Alkaline; a song so hot it was used throughout Jamaica’s general election in February. Then there’s the novelty hit ‘Tom Cruise’ by Don Andre; this track has been sparking a dance craze of the same name.
Kartel is never far from the action; he has four songs on Dancehall Kick Out, including ‘Summer 16’. Not to be left out is Vershon who represents with ‘Mercy A God’.
Tad Dawkins says Dancehall Kick Out, is all about who and what’s hot in Jamaican music.
“This new series will always showcase dancehall’s newest and hottest songs.”
Here are the songs on Dancehall Kick Out, which is available on iTunes since July 15 and officially releases on August 2016, and will also be available on CD.
