Stream Vybz Kartel “Kingston Story Deluxe Edition 10th Year Anniversary” Mixpak Records 2021

New York based producer Dre Skull, from Mixpak Records, dropped the new Deluxe version of the classic Kartel’s album “Kingston Story”, to celebrate 10 years since the original legendary album came out.

The 10th anniversary of the cult studio album includes two new unreleased songs: “Ghetto Youths (Survival Story) in acoustic, and another track titled “Drinkin & Smokin”. Both tunes smoking hot to another level. Listen scrolling below.

Dre Skull & Vybz Kartel’s “Kingston Story” studio album came out in 2011 and become a classic, featuring originally 16 tracks that are all leading singles, the album has been for two consecutive weeks on the Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart that year, peaking at No. 7.

The Brooklyn based music producer announced via his Instagram page the new deluxe edition re-print saying:

““10 years later and it continues to connect. Thankful!! To celebrate 10 years since the release of @vybzkartel’s classic “Kingston Story”, we’re releasing a special 10th anniversary deluxe edition of the album. Out now!!,” .

Dre Skull, that discovered his love for Jamaican music years before via a collection of Scratch Lee Perry’s records, visited Jamaica in 2010, meeting with Vybz Kartel, that was still a free man back then. The two had previously worked together on one of Kartel’s music single “Yuh Love” that got a lot of positive response, which sparkled their connection and Dre Skull started working with Vybz Kartel’s album during 2010, with the two developing mutual respect for each others.

Dre Skull has since worked with Popcaan on his 2014 debut album “Where We Come From”, still available for stream here, and several other Popcaan singles like “Everything Nice”, “The System”, ” Love Yuh Bad”, as well as veteran dancehall superstars like Beenie Man, Tifa, Konshens, Mavado and Spice. He also has written music and produced for Snoop Lion featured in his reggae album “Reincarnated”.
