Vybz Kartel has also be speaking up in the first interview [via email] in several years with Billboard Magazine.
Ahead of the release of his latest album, incarcerated dancehall deejay Vybz Kartel has spoken to Billboard about a number of issues including his appeal.
Kartel’s Billboard interview was coordinated by Zojak World Wide co-founder, Zoe Espitia, co-founder with Aaron Mahlfeldt , distributors of “Of Dons and Divas” and the world’s largest digital distributor of Jamaican music, with the questions emailed to him and Kartel’s responses sent back to Billboard.
In the interview, the 44 year old incarcerated World Boss condemned the Jamaican court system and welcomed the chance to have his appeal presented to the Privy Council, saying
“I would like to say re the Privy Council that I am going to be out soon. Law and statute are what the council deals in, not corruption. The appeal hearing in Jamaica, just like the trial, was a joke, a kangaroo court, a circus.”

Kartel’s lawyers will return to the Court of Appeal on Monday to argue a motion to have his case heard by the UK’s Judicial Committee of the Privy Council.

Boasting a reggaeton flair, the track is produced by JonFX and is mixed by Grammy award winning engineer Jimmy Douglass.
