Worl’ Boss Vybz Kartel, The King of Dancehall is finally and officially back!

After spending more than 13 years behind bars, and winning his UK Privy Council Appeal, Vybz Kartel is  back and larger than life, – as we at this site predicted long time ago – and he is preparing for a big comeback with his first concert since being freed!

The countdown has begun to the most anticipated event in dancehall history: the return of Vybz Kartel to the live stage!! Kartel has re-united his Gaza Camp, with many members of his legendary imprinting being in the show line up!

Freedom Street Concert is slated for Tuesday, December 31st at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica. It is expected to be the largest and most historic event ever staged in Jamaica.

Freedom Street is more than a concert; it’s an experience, and a declaration that the “King of Dancehall” and “Worl Boss” is returning to his throne!

Vybz Kartel’s first live show after 13 years has been rightfully dubbed  Freedom Street, and will mark a milestone and will make history in the global dancehall scene.

The announcement of the live show has already been building a craze among his fans and followers, both in Jamaica and around the world with the first tier of tickets being sold out after few hours  the tickets went on sale!!!

Like Bob Marley and Buju Banton before him, Vybz Kartel will be live in concert for his awaited return on December 31 at the National Manley Stadium in KINGSTON Jamaica. New Year’s Eve 2024, it’s a perfect celebration of freedom, new beginnings and the resilience of Addi’s career.

This performance is expected to draw massive crowds from all over, with fans eager to witness the artist’s return to the stage after more than a decade.

Vybz Kartel, born Adidja Azim Palmer, was released from prison this past July 31 2024 after the UK Privy Council overturned his murder conviction. Along with his three co-defendants, Kartel was freed following years of legal battles, which included claims of juror misconduct during his original trial. His freedom was salute with tears of joy by his loyal fanbase, many of whom have stood by him during his time in prison. (including this site to begin with)

Talking about his upcoming live show Kartel himself has expressed his excitement about the event, acknowledging the unwavering support of his fans who have been begging him for a comeback performance. The concert is being touted as not just a return but a reclaiming of his throne as the undiscussed and undefeated king of dancehall.

Freedom Street, produced by Downsound Entertainment, is shaping up to be the most anticipated event ever staged in Jamaica. 14 bars and over 60 food-court vendors will open at 4pm for patrons to indulge before Vybz Kartel takes the stage. The stage show portion of the event is slated to begin at 10pm, with an amazing firework show at midnight, toasting in the new year.

Vybz Kartel, along with Joe Bogdanovich, emphasized that the upcoming event is more than just a stage show, but an event for friends and family members to ring in the New Year in an amazing atmosphere, while enjoying Kartel’s historic return to the stage. They announced the official rum partner as Str8 Vybz rum, official cognac as Remi Martin and the official sparkling beverage as Luc Belaire.

Vybz Kartel announced that he will be joined on stage by Popcaan, Spice, Skillibeng, Tommy Lee, Chronic Law, Shawn Storm, Lisa Hyper, Sheba, Gaza Indu, Likkle Addi & Likkle Vybz. More artists expected to be announced including some international superstars, like Busta Rhymes & Shatta Wale and more. The event’s host is MC Nuffy.

The special half-price Gaza Nation Bleacher Tickets sale will start at midnight on Friday November 29 —Black Friday Weekend —and run through midnight on Sunday, December 1, 2024. This sale is available for a limited quantity for limited time.
