The police said the seized items will be analyzed “for evidential purposes in the police search for clues as they seek to find the perpetrators behind the murder of Samuels”.
Samuels, who at one point was Kartel’s road manager, was shot multiple times by gunmen along Manning’s Hill Road at about 4:30 am Sunday.
Meanwhile, Kartel is behind bars for the 2011 murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams. In july, he and two co-accused were freed of another murder charge.Yesterday, his attorney Tom Tavares-Finson said that his client was not linked, in any way, to Samuels’ death.
“This is not the first occasion that the police have said that contraband was found in his cell,” Tavares Finson told the Jamaica Observer.
The attorney said that similar allegations made against his client on a previous occasion “to deny him bail” were proven to be untrue.
“I will wait until after the investigation to make any further comments,” he added.
