Justice Glen Brown Friday afternoon denied again bail to dancehall artist Adidja Palmer, aka Vybz Kartel. 

Fans of Vybz Kartel that were ready to celebrate the Dancehall Hero getting bail will be again disappointed.

The bail application request for Addi began in chambers last week Friday and continued this past Friday.

The application was made by  attorney-at-law Valerie Neita Robertson who is representing Vybz Kartel in the murder case involving Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams.

Vybz Kartel and his co-accused are to return to the Home Circuit Court on May 27 when it is expected that the trial will begin. Prosecutor Joan Barnett had opposed the application on the basis that the prosecution has a strong case against him. 

Vybz Kartel is charged jointly with Andre St John, Kahira Jones, Shane Williams and Calvin Haye and Gaza artist Shawn Campbell, more popularly known as ‘Shawn Storm’. 

Adidja Palmer, Vybz Kartel real name, has been in custody since September 2011. He has been granted bail in relation to the murder of Barrington ‘Bossy’ Burton in another case but cannot take up the offer because of the Williams matter.

The trial is currently stalled and remanded to May 27 because witness is unavailable and uncooperative.
