While we know a lot about World Boss Vybz Kartel, Teetimus, that already voiced a good song with Kartel few years ago, click here to listen, he is an artist based in the United States, featured in My Girl, his breakout dancehall hit.
Like other dancehall producers and singers releasing records featuring Vybz Kartel, Teeitmus says he recorded the song several years ago.
“It’s a song mi did have long time and I never used it. I made Gutty Bling of Claims Records in Jamaica listen to it, and him seh, ‘Yow, a Kartel dat enuh. Don’t sleep on it’. I made a rhythm around the song and it was a movie from there. I have been getting good feedback in Miami, New York and in Jamaica, and we are looking to film a video soon,” he told the Jamaican press.
Teetimus has always dabbled with songwriting, especially for other recording artists.
“Many people respect me as an artist already because I have written melodies for artists, so it was only a matter of time. Some fans are just catching on, but that is part of the journey. I will be doing a more crossover style of dancehall because I want to put dancehall even bigger on the international stage. In these times in music, you have to do other things to get more leverage. You can’t just stick to production,” he said.
