Dancehall King Vybz Kartel, real name Adidja Palmer, has since been relocated to the Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre, where he has reportedly been placed on a block called ‘Jail’, which has been equipped with security cameras and other forms of modern technology designed to prevent illicit activities. ‘Jail’ is said to house high-risk prisoners.

Adidja Palmer is already serving a life sentence for the 2011 murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams, he has been ordered to serve 35 years before he becomes eligible for parole, he has since appealed his conviction and sentence.

Prominent attorney-at-law Isat Buchanan has labelled the sudden transfer of his client Vybz Kartel from Horizon Remand Centre to Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre (formerly General Penitentiary) as “an attempt at his life”.

This is not the first time the Lisa Evers “exclusive” interviews bring the Jamaican superstar in hot waters with the the Department of Correctional Service, that already opened a probe against Kartel following Evers first interview with Kartel in jail, that was not authorized and now this new transfer, just when Kartel will drop his new album “True Religion”, inspired by his new relationship with Sidem.

“Transferring Mr Palmer in the rain, causing him to get wet, given his medical condition is an attempt at his life,” Buchanan told the press. “It is deliberate and/or negligent and unacceptable,” Buchanan insisted.

The attorney said no reasons were given by the Department of Correctional Services for the transfer.

“His case is before the highest court of this land.

I am very disappointed that taxpayers’ money is being wasted for fishing expeditions and PR stunts.

The move comes following the airing of an interview on Fox 5 by his fiancée as well as the eve of the anniversary of his arrest 11 years ago,” Buchanan said.

“I urge all Jamaicans to download ‘True Religion’, a tribute to Sidem, which comes out tonight at 11pm. It’s a really good love story,” Buchanan said.
