Veteran Jamaican dancehall artist Ninja Man, real name Desmond Ballentine, has been found guilty of murder by a jury of 7 members in the Home Circuit Court.
The popular Jamaican dancehall star arrived in court in an ambulance, sign that, given his age and the shock for the verdict, is still feeling the chess pain that had him in the hospital in the first place midway during the trial.
Fans of Jamaican music all over the world are becoming more and more familiars with the names of jails, court address and so on since so many popular Jamaican artists soon or later, for a reason or another, ended up there, so often in recent times that even international readers can name the Jamaican justice institutions in Kingston and wants to stay informed on verdict and trials.
Ninja Man’s son Janeil and another man involved in the case were also found guilty. The popular Jamaican deejay and his two co-accused were able to be freed while the trial was stuck for some bureaucracy delays with 17 missing trial dates and 23 mention dates in the last eight years, while the trial suddenly restarted around a month ago. The prosecution called witnesses and one them said he saw Ninja Man at the scene of the murder and the deejay fire shots against him.
In his own defense Ninja Man said that he was never closed by Marl Road at the time of the incident and source inside the court room reported Ninja smiling after the verdict was read.
