Vybz Kartel News: In Court Today For Ganja Charges – October 2011

Vybz Kartel In Jail 2011Vybz Kartel returned to court today

Jamaican dancehall star Vybz Kartel is still being held in jail.

He was supposed to have a preliminary court appearance on murder charges, gun possession and conspiracy that was put off again and again at the point that his lawyer,Tom Tavers Finson, lifted some legit criticism against police holding his client and wasting time.

Vybz Kartel and Alicia Jackson, the female that was with him in a Kingston’s hotel room, when they were taken in  from police last Friday, will  answer  in court, today, for the ganja charges.

After arresting him police scheduled an hearing for this past Tuesday that is been cancelled because it was not listed on the court sheet and they then announced Addi would be appearing in the Court Division of the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court yesterday but instead they kept postponing the hearing with other non sense.

Vybz Kartel, real name Adidja Palmer, was transported to court but was never brought before a magistrate because the matter had still not been listed to be heard. The police did not submit the case file to the court’s office in time for the matter to be heard yesterday.

Vybz Kartel is confident that his name will be cleared at the appropriate time”, his lawyer reported.

He is confident in his representation and confident in his position that in short order he’ll be on the road where he belongs so he can continue to pursue his career.

Yesterday, a handcuffed Vybz Kartel, that appeared to be going back to looking black again, not bleached, wearing an elegant jacket and with a tired and a sad face, was transported to court.

A lot of Vybz Kartel supporters had camped out at the Half-Way- Tree Police Station, along Maxfield Avenue and welcomed the artist.

Several women with  pictures of the deejay, offered words of encouragement as Vybz  Kartel was being taken back to jail.

Free the Teacha fans chanted.“Free up the boss; free up the general. The man no do nutten!”

I can’t understand people, if he is guilt of killing some one else child why wouldn’t you people not want him in jail, those police officer are not fools they are acting on information giving to them by confidential informants who probably is around Kartel and should know . And why would they want to charge Kartel with a murder that someone else did and let that person get away with murder just to spite Kartel , that’s just rediculous. I just hope he did not do it but if he did he got to get punish like you and me Jamaican people.
