Vybz Kartel has been in the news for the latest controversial topic of his blue Cake soap, a product to bleach the skin. Vybz Kartel even has a song titled ‘Cake Soap’, that has been hitting hard the airwaves.

The Jamaican dancehall hero keeps it totally honest on his intentions during this interview with New York based Hot97 Radio Station.

During the interview Kartel doesn’t deny bleaching his skin. He says he’s a conscious brother and he doesn’t hate his complexion, but in the same time, he’s not a social or a political leader, he’s just an artist and he wants to be free to do what he likes.

He also, as stated in his earlier interviews, remarks that he likes controversy and that’s why he’s wearing braces even if he doesn’t really needs them.

The whole chat , which is almost 6 minutes long, is very funny, but also very direct with both sides, radio hosts in NYC, and Vybz Kartel, on the phone from Jamaica, keeping it real and also cracking jokes about a New World Order Gaza, Kartel’s Visa issues and his complexion color.

In his latest interview World Boss also talked about his new album announcing that will be out in spring and will be packed with dancehall and hip hop collaborations!

Vybz Kartel’s “Cake Soap” has been a huge success in the dancehall music scene, while Kartel has been hardly criticized for the song, the record got spins all over the world becoming an evergreen classic and a sort of manifesto for the artist, that in a stunt move also put on the market a batch of blue soaps for bleaching the skin wrapped in his face, cashing in once again in more controversy.

But many think it was just a smart marketing idea.
