The Gaza Don is keeping busy while awaiting for his final appeal before the UK Privy Council.
The EP, part one of his Exiled Pharaoh series, is slated to be released in December 2022. The title of his upcoming mini album was no doubt influenced by his final appeal, which both him and his lawyer Isat Buchanan feel will result in his freedom, an outcome that all the fans and family are hoping for.
Talking to Lisa Evers on Fox 5 NY, Kartel’s lawyer Buchanan shared that he was “very happy and optimistic about being before the Privy Council” because it is “the final court, and justice is for all.”
It’s good to see Vybz Kartel standing tall and strong still despite the incarceration since in the last week there have been reports the deejay allegedly received death threats from a prison ward at the Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre (also known as GP), where he has being held and transferred since his fianceè interview with Lisa Evers was aired, click here for details on the story.
This past Sunday, one of the Worl’ Boss spokesperson, told to the press that guards had threatened and harassed the artist. In light of threats and harassment, his family now fears for his life, and they had urged his lawyer, Isat Buchanan, to speak with the prison authorities.
A subsequent report stated that Tommy Lee Sparta, another incarcerated dancehall star from the former Portmore Empire, currently serving a three-year term for the illegal possession of a handgun, had also been beaten while imprisoned, read the full story here.
Kartel spokesperson made it known that the Gaza Boss was threatened by the same individuals who sent Sparta to the hospital.
On top of that Kartel has been facing harassment from jail wardens since he was transferred to GP in September following an interview that revealed that he got engaged to Sidem Otzurk, harassment that consists in “the officers searching” Kartel’s cell constantly, and they said Tommy Lee, whom they called “his soldier,” disrespected them, which is why he is facing the consequences.
On November 9, the guards attempted to hold Kartel responsible for a shattered cell phone that was found on the block where his prison cell is located. Four days later, on Sunday, Kartel had a verbal dispute with a guard named Reid, who threatened his life and accused him of acting like he was in control at the jailhouse.
The deejay’s management team is currently requesting that the police look into the alleged harassment and death threats. In the meantime, Kartel’s attorney has refrained from commenting until after speaking with his client, who is currently awaiting the outcome of his appeal against his criminal conviction at the Privy Council in England, Jamaica’s highest court of appeal.
Kartel’s announced the comet is coming and a new music single titled “Kriptonite” just dropped!
Vybz Kartel found his ‘Kryptonite’ in a special girl. It seems even the Gaza President has a weakness. Kartel sings this seductive love song over a beautiful acoustic guitar melody with stuttering trap drums and earth-shaking 808s.
