Jamaican dancehall music lost another female star, Keshan, that was shot and killed early Saturday morning in St Catherine, Jamaica.
Keshan was involved in an altercation with her boyfriend. when she began stoning his vehicle, after which she stabbed him three times, at that point, the man, that was a licensed firearm holder, shot her one time in her upper body, but Keshan’s sister instead say she was shot in her head.
While she was taken to the hospital, where she died, he drove himself to the hospital, a sign his wounds if any where just superficial.
The man that shoot her survived and he is now under police watch, but apparently free. Why he had to take her life?
Keshan, real name Keneisha Brown, was just 24 years old, but dancehall fans all over the world became familiar with her name because she recorded several hit singles with incarcerated dancehall superstar World Boss Vybz Kartel, that go back of several years, when she has been featured in Kartel’s hit singles like“Bubble Up Your Body”. “Don’t Lie”, “Kill Or Die“, “The Goods“ and more.

Vybz Kartel himself took it to the Gram expressing his shock and pain, he wrote:
“Some tings so hurtful ya fi just f***in bawl yow. RIP Kesh,” sharing a photo of her adding later “Di flesh gone but the soul and di memory a forever,” in another post.
Keshan always had a passion for music and had hoped to make it big time.
“I want to go as far as possible with my career… like a Lady Saw or a Beyoncé. I want my career to reach an international level,” she told the press during a 2015 interview.
Her dream was cut short. Keshan sister, Peteisha Brown, has been speaking to the press and she indicated that her family had not been contacted by the licensed firearm holder or his family since the shooting death of the entertainer, despite the close ties among them before. And she is saying that Keshan was pregnant!
The story gets more controversial by the minute!
“My brother is a friend of his (the licensed firearm holder) sister. They live in the community in front of us, (but) no one has contacted us.
He (the licensed firearm holder) hasn’t said a word to us, and it is so heart-rending because I found out by looking through her phone that she was pregnant at the time (of her death),” the sister said.
