Jamaican Gospel Artist Abigail Hamilton

Abigail Hamilton 2011

There’s an interesting Rhianna’s Man Down Remix from Abigail Hamilton, titled “Stand Up”.

She a young artist, Jamaican born and now a Brooklyn resident, currently back in Jamaica for a week promoting and showcasing her talent. Hamilton’s father was a part of Jamaican Folk Singers so she came across music on her early age and she developed her own style which has roots in Gospel and R’n’b Music.

There’s a lot of spirituality in her songs and she started her journey as a gospel singer doing background vocals for well known local Gospel acts.

Her solo career was an act of God too: somebody told her she would became a Gospel Artist having that specific mission as her ministry and broadcasting her message traveling to the world. She recalls being a little hesitant but eventually preying God and asking if that was really His will for her and she also ask the Lord to open doors and give her Ministry opportunities if that was the Almighty will.

So after a year from those prophetic words Abigail migrated to Usa where she met Linton Atkinson of Adamah 8 Records and her career really begun. Her style is being defined as unique and appealing and she gaining quickly fans from all over the world. Songs like I Got A Man gained a lot of airplays in Jamaica and in NYC underground radio stations. She also released singles like “Still Working On Me” and “I Won’t Move”, which are being played in Africa, Europe,America and in the Caribbean.

She released her album “Let It Rain” in September which already earned Album Of The Year in the Paramount Gospel Awards and she was also voted Best Female Singer in Jamaica .

Her music video “Let It Rain” was also pick for the BET Gospel Video of the Year. Abigail Hamilton is a Gospel Minister and she’s working on her new album. She want some Reggae influences on it and she wants to talk about major world issues. She also recently started a movement called ONE MOTION GENERATION >OMG>and with it she wants to motivate her generation to move and be moved by God.

She wants people to became one voice, one aim so to make drastic changes in the world to come! Wow we need more youth like this! With her voice!Respect! Abigail Hamilton is up to big things!
