Came across this Eco -Vynil turntable design proposal for Sennheiser, a German private audio company and I think it’s brilliant so I want to share also in the hope they will develop it further since it’s just a prototype designed by a student!
Sennheiser is a solid German company that produces a wide range of high fidelity products, and one of the most iconic names in the audio and electronics industry.
A lot of established artists ( from The Beatles to Beyonce ) are familiar with their products that include headphones, speakers, microphones and more.
In a attempt to appeal to the youngest generations the company teamed up with designer Mattew Lim to create a a turntable made mostly of fiberboard, cork and aluminum.
An Ecologic and portable turntable. How cool! Easy on the eyes, ears, and over all the Environment.
And it also should be easy on the price! Lim chose high-density fiberboard “because of its ability to carry sound reverb.
The Eco-Vinyl Turntable box set contains a turntable and headphones both made from cost-effective materials (recyclable and biodegradable) without sacrificing performances and hardware quality, providing a balance between cost and quality with a contained price.(around 350 $)
