Jamaican dancehall star Tommy Lee Sparta, real name Leroy Russell, was finally freesd on March 23rd 2023, after spending almost 3 years behind bars.

There are several videos documenting Sparta walking out of the penitentiary, taking a mineral bath in the river and spending some quality time with some of his kids that are bursting out in tears for the emotion of finally being re-united with their dad.

The Flanker, St. James native was welcomed by a group of family members, friends and business associated when he walked out of the Horizon Center and the first thing he did was to take a bath in the river and spend some quality time with his kids.

Videos of the artist taking a dip in a river surfaced on social media a few hours after he was seen walking out of jail while his family, clearly overwhelmed with emotions, showered their relative with love.

Tommy Lee Sparta had been behind bars since 2020 after pleading guilty to illegal possession of firearm and ammunition and he was then sentenced to complete his five-year sentence, but since the sentences were concurrent, he only served the longer sentence of three years, while the ammunition sentence (two years) was thankfully counted as served simultaneously, so the total time was reduced to three years instead than five. He was released ahead of the expected time, for his good behavior.

In the videos Sparta is seen wearing a blue hat while taking a  cleansing dip in the river and then he immediately went for a surprise visit to some of his children that get very emotional, with tears of joy and happiness.

After the first videos of Sparta first taste at freedom surfaced on social media some fans of the artist have commented on how different he looks after being away in jail for so long.

While the artist has not yet officially spoken to his fans, his lawyer, Donahue Martin, requested privacy on behalf of his client as he confirmed that Tommy Lee was using the time to rest and reconnect with his loved ones after being away for so long. The management of Tommy Lee Sparta,  whom is managed by Nicole Taban of Boss Lady Muzik, requested that everyone, music industry professionals, event promoters, and fans, to allow the artiste some quiet time, the deejay respectfully asked for privacy in the coming days as he rests and reconnects with family and loved ones, he is with his family and won’t be speaking to fans and the press anytime soon.

During his incarceration several hit songs from the gothic dancehall artist came out like “Meds Messed Up“, and “Blessings,” just to mention a few, which are currently chart-topping songs.
