Following the latest police harassment episode that targeted his family, Jamaican dancehall artist Likkle Vybz, real name Adidja Jaheim Palmer, spoke out out pouring out all his frustration for the latest events in a brand new released single, titled “Greatness”.
Vybz Kartel’s sons Likkle Vybz and Likkle Addi were at their own home also in the company of their mom, Shorty, this past week-end, when the Jamaican police force went inside their house with a warrant, the whole thing, which was captured in a now-viral video, become even more bizarre because police had a wrong address in that warrant.
Anyhow in the video posted online heavy armed police officers were seen raiding the Palmer’s house in search of “alleged scammers”. You can read the full story here and watch the viral video.
The Palmer family has expressed on multiple occasions their exasperation with the local authorities, whom they believe are targeting them.
Following the incident, one of the several that already happened to Vybz Kartel’s sons and baby mother, since police already raided their house without a warrant this past month of April, just to mention one, Likkle Vybz has turned to music to further voice his frustration about this whole situation with the police, releasing his latest music single “Greatness”.
On Likkle Vybz’s Instagram page, anticipating the new record, the artist speaks his incredulity of being a “walking target” despite never partaking in illegal activities to earn his money.
Despite these conflicts with police not leaving him and his family alone for no reason, Likkle Vybz sharesthe situation in powerful verses and lyrics and expresses the assurance he is after greatness while noting that his enemies are afraid of it, he choose to be a musician not a criminal, a gangster or a scammer.
Directly addressing his family’s encounters with the police, the deejay shares how the altercations have been affecting him.
“Police harassment jus a badda mi brain. Three time one year, dem a falla mi trail. Mi a chill in a mi house, dem a stan a mi gate seh mi have gun and drugs weh mi lock a mi place. Wah kinda profile dis a falla mi face,” Likkle Vybz sings on the track.
