Stephen Marley won the Grammy for Best Reggae Album last evening for his Revelation Pt 1: The Root Of Life, his third studio album.

Ziggy Marley, Stephen’s oldest brother, was nominated too, for his album ‘Wild and Free’, as well as Shaggy for ‘Summer In Kingston’, Israel Vibration for the album ‘Reggae Knights’ and Monty Alexander nominated for ‘Harlem-Kingston Express Live’!

This is Stephen Marley’s third solo Grammy. In 2007 he won the Grammy for his solo album, Mind Control.

He won his second solo Grammy a couple of years later with the acoustic version of ‘Mind Control’.

As every year the announcement of the Reggae category is usually held before the main event and doesn’t get televised for some mysterious reason.

This is Stephen 3rd Grammy but he already won five Grammy Awards, as a part of Ziggy Marley and The Melody Makers, and also two more with his other brother Damian Marley, collecting so far a grand total of ten Grammy Awards!..
