Breaking news in Jamaican incarcerated dancehall star World Boss Vybz Kartel’s case.
Incarcerated with Shawn Storm Campbell, Kaira Jones and Andre S. John since the end of September 2011, Vybz Kartel and his associates has been sentenced to 35 years in prison and 25 years in prison without parole.
At the end of the longest trial in Jamaican history, for the murder of Clive Lizard Williams allegedly caused by some missing guns.
Such a long and harsh sentence shocked the entire dancehall community and Vybz Kartel’s fans were left heartbroken.
Kartel has always proclaimed his innocence and declared his hands are clean of Clive Lizard’s blood.
During the long case the deejay’s trial has been plagued with missing evidence, tampered evidence by police, forced admissions, jurors parties, scandals, police corruption and other bad mind things.
Vybz Kartel‘s and his legal team appealed the sentence few months after the verdict and you can still see the original appeals documents here, but fans were warned the appeal could have been a long wait and it could take long time.
Few months ago, after 3 years since filing for appeal that should grant the Jamaican star and his co-accused a fair trial was finally disclosed that the appeal has been granted for Kartel’s and his co-accused and a date was set for the trial to start around September 17 2017.
Well, why that date proved to be incorrect, serious sources on Jamaican TV shared yesterday the updated informations on the Appeal saying a date is finally set for next year February 2018.
While Vybz Kartel has been missing from the music scenes since being put behind bars, deejays and producers all over the world kept releasing Kartel’s pre-recorded material keeping him relevant and a constant fixture in Jamaican dancehall music and culture.
