Babylon is the story of a young black man in UK during the 80′. A classic and one of the most highly regarded cult British films of the 1980.

The movie tells the story of David, a working class musician and black man in South East London. By day he works as a mechanic, at night David is a Mic controller at a local dancehall.
This flick centers around the racial divisions of London in the 80’s, the lack of opportunities available to black people and poverty.
David loses his job, gets beaten up and charged by the police, but he’s innocent , forcing him to go on the run.
He then breaks up with his girlfriend, and under pressure all of his frustrations culminate in the stabbing of a racist neighbour.
This flick is pretty dramatic and it ends with a army of cops smashing down the doors of a music hall.
Yeah given the recent riots in London and the increasing news of police brutality in this new world order century, worldwide, the youths need to peep movies like Babylon, to open their eyes and don’t let the system bring dem down.
Directed by Franco Rosso , co-written (with Rosso) by Martin Stellman, photographed by two-time Oscar winner Chris Menges (The Mission; The Killing Fields) and starring celebrated reggae star Aswad frontman Brinsley Forde (Here Come The Double Deckers), Karl Howman and Trevor Laird, Babylon is a raw movie with an effective mix of dancehall and reggae lovers sound track and social commentary.
