Check out a classic Jamaican movie titled “Roots Time”.
Considered a reggae movie and documentary, that came out back in 2006 and it has also been dubbed “a Road Movie”.
“Roots Time” is a Jamaica and Argentina production, and the film is directed by Silvester Jacobi for Mistikal Films.
The project has been filmed in the island of Jamaica and tells the story of “Jah Bull” and “Baboo” and colorful car that brings them places.
Jah Bull and Baboo are two Rastafarians that sell vinyl records in an old classic and colorful car field for the villages within Jamaica.
By chance “Farmer Roots,” their favorite radio host makes them handle a an emergency by carrying his sick girlfriend to a hospital.
But “Jah Bull” and “Baboo” by their Rastafarian principles, do not believe in traditional medicine and convince “Farmer Roots” to take his sick girlfriend to a known herbal doctor called Bongo Hu.
Getting to the herbal doctor is much more difficult than they expected and all kinds of adventures happen along the way.
This a classic Jamaican Gem that portrays the island as it was many years ago and will keep you stuck to the screen for the whole time.
